Many would argue that it is highly impossible for a straight woman to fall in love with another woman. And, that there could be no way a straight woman could fall in love with a lesbian or gay woman. However the reality is, it does happen. Perhaps the straight woman finds the lesbian or gay woman physically attractive and kind. Qualities of a person  that most women are looking for.

Straight women are just humans. They can be physically attracted to persons of the same sex. It can happen to anyone. You can be a straight man who falls in love with another man or a straight woman who falls in love with another woman. Or, you could have been in love with men your whole life and then suddenly finds yourself in love with another woman. You may have envied this woman before because she is more attractive and then finds yourself in a situation where you feel something different towards her.

It Can Happen and It Is Happening

Many women have had experiences falling in love with men their whole lives and then suddenly find themselves attracted towards persons of the same sex. They fall in love with men their whole lives but caught up in a situation where their feelings changed. This time the feeling is towards women and not with men.

When a straight woman falls in love with another woman, it doesn’t mean she wants to get laid, but the feeling is that of wanting to think of her and be around her all the time.

It Can Complicate Things

Falling in love with another woman, when you are a woman yourself, can be very complicated. You may experience excitement when you are feeling the love, but it may be that you are just being, curious? It can be that you want to be like the woman you are attracted to. Infatuation, perhaps? Or, it maybe that you are just wanting attention? Whatever it may be, the fact is, it can complicate things if you are not sure about it.

While it is nice to fall in love and be loved, you have to be very careful when you feel this kind of feeling. Check your love radar as to how deep your feeling towards the other woman is. If it is not deep enough you may just be experiencing something that most women go through. Curiosity? Infatuation, etc…? You do not have to act on it. A woman who is in her late 50’s has a huge crush on a lesbian in her early 40’s. Let’s hide their real names as “X” and “Y”. X being the lesbian and Y, the woman in her late 50’s. Both belong to a group composed of lesbian couples, straight women and single lesbians.

The two are both single and available. Being without partners, they were the subject of “who gets who” in the group. This situation made both X and Y very uncomfortable in each other’s company as when they are left alone there will be teasing and laughing by the rest of the group members. In response, X and Y made an arrangement to just make fun out of it.

Not known to X, Y has a huge crush on her. Y, on the other hand, is unaware that X likes her eyes. X would play around with Y when it became known to X that Y really liked her. She would tease her around when in the group and when Y calls X over the phone. Y liked the way she was teased by X. Then Y falls for X. Y got so crazy that she calls X every now and then. She would also send X text messages that leads to something deeper than mere call for friendship.

X, knowing that Y liked her and started to fall for her, continued to just play and tease around Y, who also did not complain of X playfulness because of a previous arrangement. Then, it came to a point when Y acknowledges falling very deeply for X. Y eventually lost her appetite for work and numerous sleepless nights. She admits imagining being with X in all her daily affairs. In short, she kept on daydreaming and wishing they could be together in the end.

Friends within the group noticed how bad X’s playing and teasing around Y affected Y. Y couldn’t eat and sleep. She also lost her appetite to work. Y was in a bad shape.

The Lesson

“Don’t play the game if you can’t take the pain”. This is a popular adage to gamers and players. It’s a win or lose situation so if you cannot accept losing then don’t dare play the game.

X, in the story, played a great role in the sad state Y is in now, but Y partly is to blame. She played the game too that X played. She was aware X was just playing and teasing around with her yet she continued to accept how she was being played and teased by X.

While X fully regrets what she did to Y, the pain is already there. Y felt the pain deeply that X left in her heart because all the while she thought that X’s playing and teasing around with her were all for real. She mistakenly thought X was serious in her feelings, though in a very playful way.

Women’s feelings are very fragile. No one should play around with it, unless one is serious in what she is doing. Since women by nature are tender with hearts’ so delicate, they should be treated with care and caution. Playing and teasing should have no place if it results to hurting the other person’s feelings.

Really? Did someone got a crush on you? Sometimes this happens without you knowing it. Either you are too good looking in the eyes of the other person or you have something special that really attracted her to you — something that you or even she cannot explain. And it feels really good, isn’t it? Though flattering, it feels good to know that someone is attracted to you or has a crush on you because it could mean you have something special you are not even aware of.

You were both introduced and become friends. Fast forward, the two of you became close. Then a friend told you your newly found friend has a crush on you and it became so obvious from the way she looks at you that indeed she has a crush on you, what would you do? Would you just swim into the deep blue sea?

Think a Million Times

Think before you leap or you could drown yourself into the wrong path. Play safe to protect yourself — emotionally. Not only for yourself, but the people who could be involved.

Tip #1:

If you have a girlfriend, STOP and FORGET about it.

The reasons is simple. You have a girlfriend and that means you are no longer available. Otherwise, if you want to make yourself available despite having a girlfriend then you are just playing around with women, which could later on haunt you back later in years. If you really love your girlfriend then you should be very careful with her heart. Seal you heart only for her as women, in general, are too fragile when it comes to matters of the heart.

Tip #2:

If you are loveless — meaning you are not into a relationship then think of her as a prospect for the time being.

Here are the reasons why you should do this:

a. You really don’t know her yet. Isn’t it that you knew her only just a few weeks back? Don’t let yourself drown into desperation to have a girlfriend. Take her, for now, as a potential partner. It is best to get to know her first before you let your heart pour out into something uncertain. You will know when you have found one true love as your friendship grows into something deeper and really special. There is a lot to learn from each other out of that friendship. By learning comes the caring and anything that could go in between.

b. She may just be playing around. Don’t be fooled when someone says she has a crush on you. It is flattering, yes. But, it is better to be safe than feel sorry.

c. What she feels may just be temporary. It could be that what she feels towards you is just a temporary sort of attraction. A feeling of wanting that person all the time but fades with time.

A lesbian experience

I have my share of story to share.

When I was in Grade school, I was strongly attracted to a girl in my class. We became friends that there are times I end up sending her to her house after school. It is my own special way of showing to the girl that I really care about her. We became really close, but she never showed any indication that she is also attracted to me. I was however sure she knows that I am attracted to her, which is pretty obvious from my actions, but I cannot really tell if she is also attracted to me. She never showed any sign at all. Until one day, she visited me at my house, which is very surprising. Then we lost touch after graduation.

That was 30 plus years ago.

A couple of months back, I received a very surprising email from a name I am not familiar with (she used an anonymous name in her email address). What intrigued me was the way the email was composed. It specifically states, “Why are you not responding to my email? Are you afraid of your wife?” What struck my core was the use of the words “afraid of my wife.” And so I emailed back and asked who she was. A day after, a response came in, stating that she was my former grade school classmate. Then we started chatting online and over the phone. Thanks to new technologies that really helped our communication much easier.

When Feelings Still Remains

After more than 30 years, we are communicating again. I can only say that the girl that I was strongly attracted to in grade school came back into my life. She shared her life’s experiences for the years that we lost touch of each other and I shared mine. We chatted and finally realized how much we missed each other.

The Lesbian Attraction

The girl that I was strongly attracted to in grade school is also attracted to me. She confessed she was also attracted to me when we were in grade school and that she longed for my kiss even then at such a very young age. She shared she was confused back then why she felt that way towards me. A feeling, she said, she cannot explain. She added that, unlike other girls, she will never really show any sign of attraction to a person even if she is very desperate to have her. She further said that, at times, she wanted to show some sign she liked me, but that she cannot do or is afraid and scared to do.

2. When you both strangely care for each other. It is something when the caring is way above your expectation.

Being true to yourself is good but there are times when you have to protect yourself from destruction. Yes, it is wise to come out clean because falling for a friend is a normal occurrence, but beware as true confession can sometimes be dangerous. There is that risk that you will get rejected or the risk that your lesbian friend will not react to your admission. When that happens, there is a chance that it will ruin the beautiful friendship.

Cover up

Secrets have a habit of slipping out when you least expect it. You may thought you have complete control of your emotion but when you come to terms of who you fancy with you can end up doing things out of your character.

Deal with it

No matter how emotionally painful it is to fancy someone, sometimes the best solution is to deal with the falling out. It is still best to be open if you want to come out clean and relieve yourself of the emotional burden.

Move on

Sometimes it is helpful to talk to a friend you consider very close to you and whom you can trust. Best of all, if you feel you are still strongly attracted to your lesbian friend, talk to a helpline or some lesbian club or association in your area. Or better still, go to a gay club where you can chill out and meet new friends. It does not mean you have to be gay, but giving yourself a break can sometimes help you move on. Be that as it may, you may want to consider detaching yourself from who you fancy with.
